Small Groups
Fostering Community & Formation at the Mission
Winter Regional Small Groups
Community is a vital part of our discipleship journey together, and our Regional Small Groups are a key way that we build community at the Mission Cincinnati. Each Fall and Spring, these inter-generational groups meet for 8 weeks for prayer, food, and conversation about the previous week’s Scriptures & sermon.
This Winter/Spring (February - March), our groups include:
FAQS
What is the difference between family groups, adults groups, and adults/teens group? Family groups mean groups intentionally cater toward families and children of all ages are welcome. Adults groups mean the emphasis is primarily on adult conversation. Please check with group hosts to see if they can accommodate children. Adults and teens groups focus on conversations for adults and teens together though children of all ages are welcome as well.
Can I attend a Small Group if I am not a member or regular attender of the Mission?
Absolutely! If you have friends at the Mission and would like to spend more time engaging Scripture and prayer in community, you are certainly welcome to be part of a mission community.
Can I be a part of a Pathways Cohort AND another Small Group?
If you are new to the Mission, the best place to get connected into the life of the Mission is to join a Pathways Cohort. That said, if Pathways has started for the season and you have missed enrolling, you can certainly join another small group. Also, if you have bandwidth, you can be part of both a Pathways cohort and one or more small groups. That said, we recommend you make your Pathways cohort your priority for this season so that you can build into the community found there and get the most out of Pathways.
How long do Small Groups run?
Regional Small groups run for 8 weeks in the Fall and 8 weeks in the Spring. Some groups, like our fellowship and community groups meet monthly. Other groups may meet for up to 8 weeks.
Do Small Groups require commitment?
Yes and no. While you can come to some of the groups sporadically (like men’s, mom’s, and community groups), other groups like the Regional Small Groups, formation groups, and Bible studies do require a level of commitment in order to grow deeper in community and to engage the content of group sufficiently.
Do small groups require any preparation?
Regional Small groups do not, although we do discuss the previous week’s sermon - so if you missed church, you can always listen to the sermon online. As for other groups, some of them may have some prep. You can reach out to the leaders and ask.
What about Other times of the Year?
